THE ARTICLES OF RAHMAANI

Inspiring Aspects of the Life of the Leader of the Ahl-e-Sunnah. The
Mention of Such a Patron and Tutor Whose Footsteps are Still a
Guidance. You Should Study it With the Intention to Act Upon it.

It is a great good luck for a Muslim if he gets holy pious parents, kind and affectionate teachers, devoted and loyal comrades and a proper field to work for Deen. It is also a great good luck to find holy religious atmosphere in childhood, good company and capacity to work for Deen in youth and reaping the fruit of religious tasks in old age. Bold courageous heart, untiring body, the eyes that weep before Allah and the mind that perceives and grasps the situation are also the blessings of Allah. Sefl-sufficiency in temperament and sense of honour, pining for Deen, high intentions but disinterest in the world are also the proofs of good luck. Removal of all hindrances from the way, provision of suitable individuals and plentiful sources and man's departure from this world honourably amidst these achievements are the blessings that are endowed and showered upon very few people. Keeping this standard in view, now I have before my eyes a beautiful, good-natured, dignified, confidant, courageous, successful and glorious resplendent personality who is victorious in every field of life. O, yes….

I have before my eyes the resplendent face of Hazrat Maulana Mufti Ahma-ur-Rahmaan who is the son of Hazrat Maulana Abd-ur-Rahmaan Kamelpuri , the son-in-law and vicegerent of Hazrat Maulana Muhammad Yousaf Binnori , the follower of Hazrat Maulana Faqir Muhammad Peshawari , the obedient humble companion of Hazrat Maulana Mufti Wali Hasan Tonaky , Hazrat Maulana Muhammad ldrees Meerathi and Hazrat Maulana Muhammad Yousaf Ludhianvi Sheheed the Administrator of Jaamiat-ul-Uloom Allama Binnori Town, International Majlis Protection of Finality of Prophethood, The Deputy Amir of Sawaad-e-Azam Ahl-e- Sunnah, the Chief Organizer of Wafaq-ul-Madaaris Al-Arabia, the head of the Binnori Trust and founder of so many other institutions, the teacher of thousands of scholars and dozens of Muftis and the fearless and sincere patron of the Mujaahideen.

He is not in this world now but on the eve of the publication of his research imprints, his memory and achievements haunt the grieved sad heart. The gap produced due to his departure is saddening the eyes as well as the heart.

His son Hazrat Maulana AZIZ-UR-RAHMAAN has tried to collect his speeches, sermons and articles under the heading "Articles of Rahmaani." Before having a look at those articles, I wish to have a glimps of some aspects of his holy pious life: Let's see:

Delights of Good Fortune

Note the bounties of the Creator of the universe at him that he was blessed with the father who was the companion of Hazrat Ashraf Ali Thaanvi and the mother who could be called the Raabia Basry of her times. When he was born, the magical efficacious atmosphere and surrounding of Mazaahir-ul-Uloom Sahaaranpur was ready to hail him. The glorious past of this scientific, practical and spiritual centre of Sahaaranpur can be estimated from the resplendence still shining there. If anyone of you wishes to have a glimpse of the resplendence of that atmosphere, he should study the autobiography of Hazrat Maulana Zakriya Muhaddith Kaandhvi. Hazrat Mufti Wali Hasan used to say, "Those who study this autobiography with the intention to act upon it, become half the saint. The rest of the half sainthood is gained by studying "Tarbiyat-us-Saalik" by Hazrat Ashraf Ali Thaanvi ." This comment of Hazrat Mufti with some terms and rules is based 100% on reality because both these books are the gist of the method of reformation described in the Holy Quran and the Sunnah.

The autobiography of Hazrat Sheikh-ul-Hadith holds man's finger and teaches him how to walk, tells the methods of reformation and success, determines the direction of belief and activity, tells the utility of company of the holy people and tells the methods of avoiding the materialism of this age very beautifully. Then the fortifications of "Tarbiyat-us-Saalik" work wonders in removing the difficulties, gorges, dictches and gaps that occur on the way and save people from stumbling at every step. In other words, the autobiography is the Dar-ul-Uloom of studying Traditions and Tarbiyat-us-Saalik is its speciality. Moreover, it is not hidden from anyone that the impact of the holy saints of Allah is cast at the Earth. The land of Sahaaranpur and Kaandhala has been the dewelling place of the holy saints and in this way, it was filled with resplendence and blessings. Hazrat Mufti Ahmad-ur-Rahmaan was born in that pious atmosphere. Then the blessings and resplendence there were imprinted on his mind. Anyone who saw him was constained to say that he was the practical example of the true Ulama. A sitting at a house in Sheikhupura cannot be forgotten in which Hazrat Maulana Muhammad Yousaf Ludhianvi said in the presence of Hazrat Mufti Wali Hasan Tonaki , "Hazrat Mufti Ahmad-ur-Rahmaan is the king in the field of mysticism but he has concealed himself in veils." This revelation about Hazrat Mufti Ahmad-ur-Rahmaan was quite new for the listeners because Hazrat Mufti neither made disciples nor conducted the sittings of reformation. He remained lost in the deeds whose engagements, complexities and constraints do not let man raise his head so that the people may be able to recognize his glory and status with their apparent eyes. Moreover, only that person is considered saint in our society who always has a group of disciples around him, who is known for his nobleness everywhere, who is skilled in charms and whose tongue itself describes his sainthood. Besides this public measure, that person is not considered saint whose beneficence spreads without creating disciples: those who impart knowledge, who win Allah's good will in the battlefield, who undergo troubles and calamities for the sake of Deen and who provide life and force to the Islamic movements are not considered saints with us.

These few words of Hazrat Maulana Ludhianvi in the meeting gave us a new channel of thinking and perception which certainly proved useful for us. Afterwards, whenever we saw Hazrat Mufti Ahmad-ur-Rahmaan in the light of these remarks, the truth of these sentences kept instilling in our hearts. Otherwise, according to the general tendency of the society, we would certainly consider Hazrat Mufti Ahmad-ur-Rahmaan a kind teacher, effective speaker, self-relying organizer and a brave leader but we had never tried to judge him from this angle as how high position he holds with regard to mysticism. It was our short-sightedness and negligence. Hazrat Maulana Muhammad Yousaf Ludhianvi opened our eyes. It is the truth that some words of the saints cure big maladies. Crossing this stage of cure, when we saw Hazrat Mufti, he came out as a very great Mystic and saint. While teaching, he used to make untiring efforts to connect students with Allah. He himself was a practical man. He wished every pupil to be embellished with the light of sincerity and activity. Afterwards, we even guessed that he stressed more on training than education. Hence, negligence in teaching was tolerable to him but negligence in activity and belief were unpardonable crimes to him.

The matter has gone too far now. We were talking of the spiritual atmosphere of Sahaaranpur. Hazrat Mufti Ahmad-ur-Rahmaan was brought up and he memorized the Holy Quran in that atmosphere. In other words, he got two gifts from the learned and spiritual atmosphere of Sahaaranpur i.e. Relation with Allah and Allah's words. Then his life was spent in protecting, publishing and preaching these two gifts. The mention of Relation with Allah has already been discussed whereas thousands of eyes who used to see his devoted relation with the Holy Quran are still open as witness. He had long stay during the nights of Ramadan. In the beginning, he himself recited the Holy Quran. Then he used to invite an elderly Qari Muhammad Ali specially and he used to spend a large part of the night at Dar-ul-Hadith Binnori Town.

It is very strange that when some people get the capacity to work for Deen due to the blessings of the Holy Quran, they become negligent of the Holy Quran under the pretext of religious businesses but Mufti Ahmad-ur-Rahmaan kept his deep relation with the Holy Quran alive till his death rather as much as his religious appointments increased, his devotion with the Holy Quran also kept increasing. Perhaps, he was inclined to the fact (may everyone be inclined to it!) that man gains that spiritual light because of recitation of the Holy Quran due to which all the religious tasks can easily be done and he remains safe from arrogance, negligence, pride and all the maladies that sometimes befall those who work for Deen. When he grew young, he came to Pakistan. His native land Chach itself was a great centre of knowledge. That area is still known with reference to religious services throughout entire Pakistan rather the thing to wonder and delight is that most of the Muslims who are serving Deen in America and Britain belong to that land. The readers know that those who go abroad to earn their living have become negligent of their Deen. A large number of them have mixed the filth there in their Recording Book but the Muslims from the province of Gujrat (particularly district Surat and Bharoch) of India have procured their religious recognition and asset of Belief to a great extent whereas people belonging to Chach of Pakistan and those who live abroad are firm to their Deen to a great extent. May Ally bless them with even more perseverance!

Those people have their glorious historical background and are actually the Afghanis. The impression of Afghani Islamic modesty is clearly discernible in the activity and temperament of Hazrat Mufti Ahamad-urRahmaan . He got knowledge from numerous religious institutions and known scholars of the country and at last reached the place where the climax of auspiciousnesses was waiting for him. O, yes, he was blessed with the pupilage, company, nearness, affection and training of Hazrat Binnori. When the jewel came to the hands of the Jeweller, its qualities began to be exposed. In this way, he was blessed with the best parents, the best teachers and the best field of Jaamiat-ul-Uloom Islami. This institution progressed as the Dar-ul-Uloom Deo Band of Pakistan and the way it removed the deprivations of the Muslim Ummah is itself a permanent history. This institution became a character-making and individual-making factory and became the heart beat of the Muslims. It produced so great matchless persons whose parallels it is difficult to find in the near past.

If Hazrat Binnori was the life of that institute, Hazrat Mufti was its heart. If Hazrat Binnori was its foundation, Hazrat Mufti was its progress. If Hazrat Binnori was its founder, Hazrat Mufti was its guardian and gardener Whenever the history of this institution will be written, the tale of its height will be incomplete without mentioning Harat Mufti. However good work the successor does, the people always say that the matter is not like that of the former but Hazrat Mufti ran this institution so well that the people had to say that Hazrat Mufti did not let the colouring of Hazrat Binnori become dim rather strengthened it even more.

An Acknowledgement

We acknowledge the fact that Hazrat Mufti could not acquire the acumen in learning and achievement as did Hazrat Binnori but he made up that deficiency through fear of Allah, wailing and weeping, waking at nights and untiring efforts. He was appointed Muhaddith at a very tender an age. This thing often becomes a cause of shame for man but it did not happen so with him rather he filled the gap left by the person who was elder than he and who was high in status, knowledge and post in such a fine way that the lookers on were stunned and the evil-mongers where disappointed badly. This unique achievement of Hazrat Mufti will be remembered till ages to come. It will be looked on as a brilliant example for those who succeed great people. I wish, those who know Hazrat Mufti and those who succeed him to describe this achievement of Hazrat Mufti in detail so that that darkness may shatter which has engulfed the great thrones due to the negligence of the cowardly successors. It is very difficult to find the example of the labour that Hazrat Mufti put in to maintain and enhance the position of Hazrat Binnori's institute. There are many successors who reap the fruits of the labour of their seniors but there are very few who melt, burn and wipe themselves out in order to save the labour of their seniors. Hazrat Mufti was the chief of such a sect. Would that everyone may get successors like him!

A Few Distinctive Traits

There are many aspects of the life of Hazrat Mufti which can be written in detail. I learnt many books from Hazrat Mufti i.e. Sharah Waqaayah, Hisaami, Saraaji and Sunan Abi Dawood. His policy as a teacher is liable to be mentioned and followed.

When I was appointed a teacher at Jamiat-ul-Uloom Islami Binnori Town, I found him a good organizer who had the quality to make his idle companions perform great deeds and whose organizing quality could make numerous useless parts work properly. He valued his companions and he knew how to put them to work according to their capacity. This topic also demands detailed discussion. The encouraging life of Hazrat Mufti is also the History of Resolution. Much can be written about that history because Hazrat Mufti had all the sterling qualities and terms of a leader that can lead the movements to success.

The Movement Khatm-e-Nabuwwat (Finality of Prophethood), Sawaad-e-Azam, Defence of Masaajid, the Afghan Jihaad Movement, Enforcement of Sharia and the Movement Unity of the Sunnis; all are the movements which Hazrat Mufti ran in his very busy life giving their full due.

Hazrat Mufti's generosity, his compassion for his fellows and services for religious personalities and religious tasks is a full topic to be written about. Hazrat Mufti's worship, his humility, his weeping at nights, his routines in the holy sanctuaries and attention to Allah are also a very important topic. A writer can get such material in abundance as is generally not found in the lives of the busy people so much so writer who wants to write about his beauty, his appearance and temperament will find himself in the open field where he can go as far as he likes because Allah had enriched Hazrat Mufti with apparent and hidden qualities in abundance. But in order to keep this thesis short, only two distinctive qualities of Hazrat Mufti are going to be described which were found in him in abundance. It is the dire need of the time that those who work for Deen in this age should inculcate those traits in them so that the same opulence may be created in their lives with which Allah had blessed Hazrat Mufti.

Manly Courage

A compulsory trait for those who work for Deen is that they may be safe from the malady of cowardice, disheartedness and indolence. From ablution to Azaan and Prayer to Fighting all give us the lesson of bravery and courage. The Holy Prophet used to seek refuge with Allah against cowardice and indolence and would advise his companions also about it. The prayer of the Muslims starts with Allah when the worshipper says Allah-o-Akbar at the start. The prayer ends at the word Allah when the worshipper says Assalam-o-Alaikum to break his prayer. In the same way, when a baby is born, he hears the word Allah first of all and only that Muslim is successful whose last words are i.e. the last word uttered is Allah. Then in the funeral prayer, the last word is Allah. When the Imaam breaks his prayer, he utters the word Allah.

The sum total is that the beginning and ending of the Muslim is at the word "Allah." Can a person who has relation with the most Elevated and the most Mighty Being be afraid of someone else? A Muslim starts his prayer with "Allah-o-Akbar." The greatness of everything save Allah is scratched out from his heart. The end of his prayer is at "Rahmat Allah," i.e. Allah's Mercy. The person who comes in the shade of Allah's mercy; nothing can harm him. Hence, the Muslim who says Allah-o-Akbar and Rahmat Allah from the core of his heart comprehending them fully, is never afraid of anyone. Timely fear is a different thing which is a part of human nature but the fear of someone that may stagger Belief, weaken creed, hamper from activity and tempt to an unfair advisability never come near a Believer because the Believer lives for Allah. He knows well that the thing whom people call greatest punishment i.e. death is not separation rather union with Allah, the real Lord. This death is an inevitable fact. Hence dying for Allah is actually finding a life which the mundane people can never grasp. In the same way, a Believer knows that undergoing troubles for the sake of Deen is the Sunnah of the Prophets and it is useless to hope for Paradise without performing that Sunnah.

Moreover, every individual who works for Deen also knows that actual task is domination of Deen and all the other tasks can be sacrificed for that domination. The Holy Prophet left Masjid Nabvi and Madrassa of the Suffah for the domination of Deen, staked his life and went out to the field of Badr. The point to meditate and grasp is whose work of us is of greater importance than that of the Holy Prophet which he was performing in Madina? Hence making some department of Deen ones object of life which may make it difficult to go out for Jihaad and that task is to be called the actual task that sacrifice of life and property becomes difficult for it is itself a great deviation.

This deviation creates cowardice. It makes Deen worldliness and desertizes the garden of Jihaad. This deviation hampers man from offering life and property in the way of Allah. This deviation makes scholars bow before the rulers and this same deviation makes Deen an unlawful priesthood.

Our venerable teacher Hazrat Mutfi Ahmad-ur-Rahmaan was pure of this deviation and he was the living example of courage, sense of honour for belief and bravery. He was running a very big religious institution. It was the biggest of many movements of today but when the matter for religious modesty or religious domination arose, Hazrat Mufti would leave every thing and set out to the field. He surprised the people who were considering little religious tasks the actual Deen and were avoiding the actual department of Deen and bow before the people who are enemies to Deen.

He was ever ready to die for the movement Finality of Prophethood. When the opportunity for Afghanistan Jihaad arose, he himself sent his students there during vacation and kept sending them till the last breath of his life. Hazrat Mufti himself and his institute was a shelter place for the true scholars whom the government and the enti-religion elements pester. He never stopped any true scholar to enter his institute out of the fear that the secret agencies would go against that institute or there will be strict supervision of the institute rather he kept protecting and serving those scholars very openly. There was a very good discipline of training in his institute but besides this, the institute was an important headquarter for religious movements. The grand movement of the Sawaad-e-Azam arose and progressed from here but after Hazrat Mufti, it died. This institute ran the movement "The Honour of Sahaabah and Hazrat Mufti watered it risking himself and his comrades. In this regard, he had to undergo the tribulations of captivity. During the days of that movement, everyone could estimate that Hazrat Mufti is not afraid of anyone except Allah and does not hesitate even to sacrifice that which he had watered with his blood. I clearly discern the scenario when Hazrat Mufti with his eighteen comrades was advancing to Binnori Town Masjid very fearlessly and the military officers were retreating with the threats to shoot them. One looker said extempore, "It seems that a flood of light is advancing forward. The soldiers had to retreat not bearing its brunt."

Then the matter of protection of Masaajid arose in Karachi. Hazrat Mufti sacrificed his rest at nights for it. It was his courage that two hundred Masaajid were freed of the occupation of the usurpers and the voice of Azaan began to echo from the minarets of those Masaajid again.

Allah be thanked, how many such Righteous deeds did Hazrat get written in his Recording Book. All this happened due to his courage after the capacity granted by Allah. I remember that once a Masjid in Karachi was going to be demolished calling it the land of the government. The colonel had issued orders in this regard. The Imaam of the Masjid came to Hazrat Mufti with his request. When Hazrat Mufti heard the story, his Farooqi modesty was stirred. He sent me to the colonel saying, "The masjid should not be demolished, no matter what happens." I went to the colonel. The situation reached to harsh words. He said in his delusion of powers, "What will you do if we demolish the Masjid?" I said, "Our Mufti has said if you people fight with bullets, we shall fight with our chests but the Masjid will not be demolished in our lives." The colonel was cool down and began to say giving the proofs, "Such and such officer also got the Masaajid demolished." I said, "Do you want to arise alive in the company of those who demolish Masaajid on the Day of Judgement or with those who protect them? " The conversation ended here. Hazrat Mufti's awe, and his true passion and bravery worked here. The government knew that that person knew how to sacrifice every thing for the sake of Deen and he does whatever he says. That Masjid was protected. Hazrat Mufti went away but the Masjid still stands. I hope that Hazrat Mufti is sharing the reward of every prostration and Tasbeeh performed in that Masjid. Hazrat Mufti's fearlessness and boldness had settled the awe and dignity of the Ulama. Very high-ranked officers would demand time to visit him. Police mobile teams against true scholars would stop running at only one phone of Hazrat Mufti. He was very selfless and sincere. That's why; he could not be suppressed. He did not phone the administration twice regarding any matter of the Masaajid. There was only one phone and then the practical field. Hence only one phone was enough for the practical filed. No doubt, all the creature is afraid of those who fear Allah. We found this maxim applying to Hazrat Mufti 100%.

In the reign of Junejo, he was arrested during his unique demonstration of his religious modesty and bravery and a fake case was registered against him and his comrades. The government wanted him to be released on bail but his view point was, "Why to get released on bail?"

That was a strange day. Hazrat Mufti with his comrades was captivated in the Laandhi Jail. Whenever, we went to visit him, we found him smiling. He flew into a rage hearing the word bail and said emphatically, "Why should we get released on bail?" He started the job of correction and address in the jail. Some of his comrades were worried about their institutes and tasks. They wanted to get released at once and the government was beseeching for this sake but Hazrat Mufti was not ready to retreat even a single inch whereas he was losing his lessons when his grand institute was waiting for him but the view point of Hazrat Mufti was, "Why has government made Ulama a toy?" Moreover, protection of modesty, honour and dignity of the Ulama was obligatory whereas it is not necessary to come out of the jail because our elders also underwent captivity but they did not withdraw from their view point even the measure of a fibre. Three months passed. At last, the Federal Government had to yield. Mr. Junejo himself phoned to the institute and gave the glad tidings of Hazrat Mufti's release. Hazrat Mufti rendered the Ulama successful and came out very honourably where a crowd of his lovers, followers and disciples was waiting for him to receive him. I still remember that reception procession. Would that all of us servants of Deen be blessed with modesty and courage for Deen like that of Hazrat Mufti! Then most of the problems will themselves be solved which are a headache for us now. It is a wonderful system of Allah that when He wills to bless a nation or a sect with honour, status and protection, He creates in them selfless and courageous individuals. The courage and bravery of that person makes the entire nation courageous and brave and even the cowardly people of the nation begin to roar and attack like the loins. When that nation does not remain worthy of that honour, that individual is called back and nothing remains discernible in the nation than cowardice, advisability and love for safety. That person is missed much at that time and everyone talks of his bravery but does not take heart to come to the field with that type of courage. Then the sense of loss couses sighs arise in the heart. Hazrat Maulana Abul-Hasan Nadvi has said about this situation.

"Apostasy exists but Abu Bakr who may uproot it is not discernible." Karachi is surrounded by several issues. The religious sect of Karachi, Ulama, pupils í Mujaahideen and their supporters are tortured but there is no one like Mufti Ahmad-ur-Rahmaan when individuals, causes, sources and power are the maximum but there is no one to bring them together and make a unity.

These days, safe castles are being broken into. Courages is getting tired and seeking some safe corner. Oppression is ruling the supreme. The merchants are putting on arms and challenging in the fields. There is no united front to counter all and no roof to get shelter. There is individuality, dissention and disunity every where. Everyone is lost in his own self. This situation is very encouraging for the enemies. They are preparing to lay hands on us one by one. May Allah protect the true people!

There must have been some deficiency in describing Hazrat Mufti's courage but no exaggeration has been resorted to. In order to estimate his bravery, it will be enough to have a look at his trained pupil Hazrat Maulana Mufti Abd-us-Sami' Shaheed; it becomes easy to confirm the claim. Hazrat Mufti had taught many people like Mufti Abd-us-Sami' the skills of courage and dealing but it is difficult for everyone to remain firm to this state. But Mufti Abd-us-Sami' remained firm to this state to the last breath of his life till at last the enemies succeeded in removing him from their path.

The way in which Mufti Abd-us-Sami' faced the disruptionists and the administration and went to the police station; it was difficult to guess that he taught very bulky books in a very great religious institution. He had no parallel in boldness and courage. In my short span of life, I have not seen so revolutionary , courageous, brave and shrewd person. The thing named fear, dread and awe was not discernible in him at all. Besides this fearlessness and bravery, he had so deep perception that he got into the bottom of the matter. He foresaw the coming events and at last stood glorious and victorious in every matter. All this state of Mufti Abd-us-Sami' was due to the favours of training, attention and confidence of Mufti Ahma-ur-Rahmaan on him. He himself would express this point emphatically. These days, there is neither Mufti Ahmad-ur-Rahmaan nor Mufti Abd-us-Sami' among us but their bravery and memory perfume our minds and hearts. Death is usually habitual of laying hands at the necks but it has a lovely shake-hand with such brave people. The hand-shake of death has separated Hazrat Mufti from us. May Allah grant all the slaves of Deen with such traits.

Ideal Devotion And Abstinence

One of the speciality of Hazrat Mufti's life was his devotion and abstinence which is becoming rare in this age. The world prostrates before those who work for Deen. It is an undeniable fact because Allah has made the temperament of the world in this way that as much a man is disinterested in it, it follows him as much. This state is very difficult that if a man works purely for Deen and love for the lust, greed, avarice for the world may not be created in him. Many people cross this difficult stage also but the next stage is even more difficult and tender. That stage starts only when the world prostrates before the people who work for Deen altogether disinterested in the world. Even the great people stagger at this stage. They take pity on that world and receive its filth of the world warmly. They think that they have thrown away the world. Now what is their fault when it itself has come? They think that they have not to chase the world rather it itself has followed them, then accepting it is offering thanks to Allah's bounty and rejecting is ingratitude. They do not think that the world is after all world as poison is poison in every situation. Will the ill-effects of the world lessen if it follows us? They do not think that prostration of the world under their feet is good but how will it be good to lift it from under the feet and shift it to the heart? Hence many pious people, when the world falls under their feet, embrace it at once. Then the poison of the world shows itself out. Sometimes, they themselves are affected. Sometimes, they remain safe but their children fall very bad prey to the world. You may look at very big families which crimes and oppression of the world are not being committed there? The matter left by the elders did not let the youngsters to be humans rather made them savages and lustful beasts. It is correct that it is not bad to accept from the world according to our needs but how is it correct to make this world a weakness of the house and make the children lovers of matter and materialism? Would that the people before whom the world prostrates, let it lie under their feet and do not let it become a compulsion of their home and children! In this way, Deen will remain safe to many generations. Our venerable teacher Hazrat Mufti Ahmad-ur-Rahmaan was distinguished in this trait also that he crossed both the stages easily. Firstly, he served Deen sincerely and devotedly being disinterested in the world. Secondly, when the world began to fall under his feet due to worldly victories, he kept the world under his feet and did not make it the ornament of the heart.

The piles of the world that would come to him were spent on religious tasks. He did so many righteous deeds that cannot be counted easily. After his death, when his achievements were exposed to the world, it came to be known that he was hostage of a number of Religious Institutions and Masaajid and looked after a number of widows and orphans. Hearing the tales of the afflicted people after his death, some one said, "Collective loss of the Muslims occurs at the death of other saints but at the death of Hazrat Mufti besides collective loss individual loss of a number of Institutions and individuals has also occurred because Hazrat Mufti looked after them selflessly." This same person who was the hostage of so many individuals and institutions when died; his wife and children had no house to live in.
This thing is surprising and strange in this age because fist thinking of everyone in this age is that of ones personal house. Every difficulty is faced for this sake. Aid is sought through the compassionate words of roof and four-walls and even loans are got. This is human obligation to some extent but Hazrat Mufti was a man of resolution. He would receive millions of rupees as gift but he would spend the entire amount on necessities and religious tasks.

A man was wondering after the death of Hazrat Mufti that he himself used to send Rs. 1500,000 every year as a personal gift but instead of all this, Hazrat Mufti did not get a house constructed. Hazrat Mufti's belief in this regard was that he himself was not security but Allah Himself will provide them place to live in. If, God forbids, the children are away Deen, providing them home is like cooperating in the vice which he cannot do at all. Hazrat Mufti set this living example of fear of Allah and piety and departed. After his death, Allah made honourable arrangements for his children to live in whereas Mufti himself remained safe from giving the details of the mud house. It is really the job of the believers and the courageous people. There are many points about Hazrat Mufti and this short article is unable to cover them. Stopping at this short commentary, let us have a look at the book in hand.

The Articles of Rahmaani

Hazrat Mufti was the best eloquent orator. Generally, he did not make speeches but his address was always very effective. I happened to listen numerous speeches during lessons and different meetings. He would speak from the heart and would convey to the heart.

Reformative colouring dominated his addresses. Sometimes, a controllable flood of passions was also seen. After release from jail, addressing a meeting in Khadija Masjid, Labour Square, he touched the height of heat of Belief and emotion but beside it, he kept showering reformatory indications also. During the days of the Sawaad-e-Azam, his address was very comprehensive, solid and disturbing to the enemies. He could not devote much time to writing and speech due to his management appointments but the passion of reformation of the Muslim Ummah in general and his pupils in particular would make his tongue shed a flood of sayings. A few days before his death, he took all the teachers of the Jaamia to the Maleer branch. That sitting was very strange and memorable. He bowed his head and kept reciting some thing for a long time. Then he blew incantations at his hand and spread it at his chest. After that, he addressed in a dim effective tone. He was describing excellence of the belief Ahl-e-Sunnah and urging the teachers to take up the creed of Hazrat Binnori. At this statement, when a voice demanding explanation came, he smiled and said, "I don't know this topic has automatically come on my lips." That statement proved not advice but a will. Then his students who used to work with him could never get such sitting. On the day of the completion of Al-Bukhari, there used to be a special state on him. He would tell much in that address. The summary of all was, Connect yourself with Allah, place complete trust in your elders and remain attached with them all the time."

The basic point of his address was sincerity. He used to remind the listeners in every address how much necessary sincerity is; no doubt, as much as soul for the body. He himself was the embodiment of sincerity and activity. So, his words were effective. During my eleven years stay at Binoori Town, I had special link with Hazrat Mufti's speech and benefitted from them much but had not the chance to study his fresh writing. I thought that the multiplicity of appointments did not let him write anything. A journal "Bayyinaat" used to be published from the Jaamia. He did not write any article for it even. Last year, after release in Karachi, Hazrat Mufti's son Hazrat Aziz-ur-Rhamaan told me that a collection of Hazrat Mufti's articles and thesis has been published. It was a great glad tidings for me. That book was conveyed to me after a few days with the order to write something about it for the next edition. It seemed beyond my powers. Reading the words of my teacher to get benefit from them is an auspiciousness but commenting on them seems disrespect but joining a piece of rag with Hazrat's continuous Sadaqah is not devoid of benefit in the Hereafter. Let us open the book and have a brief cursory glance at it.
