ONE MALADY ----- THREE CURES

Allah is the Greatest Forgiver. He loves forgiving. He blesses in abundance. The generous Muslim is very close to Allah but the stingy and miserly one is away Allah. We Muslims, these days, have grown stingy, greedy and avaricious beyond limits. That's why; every trouble is knocking at our doors. How much wealth do the Arab rulers have? How much of that wealth is under the use of the Muslims? An Arab prince has invested billions of dollars in an American company. This is just one asset of a prince. Estimate yourself the rest of the wealth of that prince and that of other Princes. Our Parvez Musharrif sold Pakistan for just 110 billion dollars. Now, the present rulers have entered into a deal to sell the rest of the country in thirty million dollars. The assets of Mr. Asif Zaradari amount to 110 billion and 600 million which is visible but the assets of Benazir and her children are besides this. Who are using all this wealth? O yes, the Muslims have grown stingy. There is another house after the first and another vehicle after the first. Let it go but the worse and abominable fondness is that we accumulate much wealth uselessly which is not useful for us nor anyone else. The assets of trillions of rupees for which we will be held accountable in the Hereafter lie decomposing in the banks, lockers and secret places. In the words of the rich, it is called "saving of wealth". It means the wealth that is extra than the expenditures, and which keeps lying uselessly. The wealthy people consider this "foolishness" a great "wisdom." They have forgotten that Qaroon is going deeper and deeper under the earth with his wealth even now also. Those people have forgetten that Allah has sent down this wealth on the earth for the use of people. The people who do not rotate the wealth among the people are the snakes over treasures. Then that wealth will become a snake around their necks. Wealth in abundance is lying useless with the Muslims. If all the wealthy people separate their Zakat i.e. one fortieth of that wealth and spend it on Jihaad and the indigent, slavery and poverty from upon the Islamic world can be wiped out. But who may tell this reality to the snakes? They can sell every thing in lieu of three trillion dollars. There is the fire of greed and avarice everywhere. Everyone is fond of becoming wealthy and obtaining VIP culture. There are plots, buildings, plazas and then distressed graves. A few days ago, I happened to pass by a graveyard. People had thrown garbage on the graves. The wealthy people should sit and ponder for a while how much wealth their predecessors took away with them. All has been left here but they themselves have reached the graves after remaining lost all their lives in figures and counting. Wealth increases if it is spent but affluence is lifted up if spending is stopped. See yourself in how great worry the present day millionaires are. There are numerous diseases, domestic troubles and all the time mental distraction. In great enjoyment are the people who have spent their wealth for the good pleasure of Allah. After death, they are enjoying themselves of their wealth. Allah did not render them dependent upon anyone in the world. Hazrat Siddique gave everything even the thread and needle in the Battle of Tabook. Did Allah make him so indigent as to beg? No, rather Allah gave him so much that he kept spending his entire life and the wealth of the whole Peninsula Arabia came under his feet. The heart weeps when we see our rulers begging of others. What is the "Carry Logar" bill from America? Transaction of Chastity in lieu of wealth. Give us wealth and and we shall wipe out Jihaad from upon the earth. Give us money and we shall wipe out the religious elements from the country. "Carry Logar" bill is a dagger at the back of Pakistan when the body of Pakistan is already injured and exhausted. Parvez Musharrif himself was a greedy and avaricious person. He deputed the army even to erect buildings and thus he turned the direction of the government to money and matter. Is there anyone who may tell the Muslims that greedy and avaricious person is very weak and helpless like the chickens. Hazrat Imaam Shafi says, "The man who is always worried about the things that fill the belly; his value remains equal to the thing that come out from the belly." The foreign policy of Pakistan is "slavery-stricken" whereas the internal policy is oppressive. The foreign policy was founded by a Qaadiaani "Sir Zafar Khan" who was the first foreign minister of Pakistan and who spent all his life in serving Europe.

Why has Parvez Musharrif who used to kill the Mujahideen in love for Pakistan fled away Pakistan? Why does Shaukat Aziz who showed dreams of the progress of Pakistan not live in Pakistan? Mullah Abd-us-Salaam Zaeef has written in his book "Story of Captivity" that when he was being arrested in Pakistan, one fleshy black officer said, "We want to save Pakistan." When he was sold to America, even then it was said, "What can we do? We are to save our country." How much did all of them save Pakistan? Anyone who is removed from government or service, goes direct to America or any other country and settles there. "Sir Zafar Khan" had also been the foreign minister of Pakistan. When he was removed from service, he became a judge in "Haig" in a court of Europe.

He made the foreign policy of Pakistan slavery-stricken. None of his successors had the power to make any amendment in it. The most appropriate person for foreign ministery according to Parvez Musharif was "Abd-us-Sattar." He was dead drunkard to the point of swooning and unconsciousness. O yes, slavery is completed by drinking wine and urine otherwise the man who has sucked a Muslim mother, cannot accept slavery even though he is weighed in gold. Our embassies are notorious all over the world. The personnel in those embassies is recruited after bribery and recommendations. Then this group of greedy people commits every vice in the anxiety of taking back that wealth and accumulating more. The embassy of every country is the shelter for their citizens whereas Pakistani embassies disgrace and sell their citizens and keep their doors close for them. If you listen to the Radio Iran, you will listen that 50% news and commentary are against Pakistan whereas not a word can be uttered against Iran at the Pakistani Radio. The reason is, this is also the law of slavish policy. An American can give you words of abuse but you cannot speak against him. This is our foreign policy. There is some anti-India mentality in the military otherwise according to our foreign policy, India is also our chum.

On the other hand, the "Internal Policy" of the country is oppressive. The very first principle of this policy is that the religious sect of Pakistan is "dangerous and dubious." The reason is that while departing, the files that the British handed over to the rulers; it was written in them that the greatest danger to the government is from the religious people. Those files still exist. No Internal minister has any power to change them and recognize the religious sect as Pakistani citizens. There have been most of such Internal Ministers who have no spare time from signing, dancing and drinking. Consequently, a large sect of Pakistan is obliged to decide that they cannot live in Pakistan as this country is not for them rather for the foreigners. In order to correct the situation in Pakistan, it is necessary to burn those files and a new policy based on Islamic Principles be devised. But who may do this job? The rulers are anxious to accumulate wealth. The rates of every thing are fixed in Islamabad and lands are sold very rapidly to make Islamabad, Americabad. Let this topic go. The pace with which Jihaad is progressing, it is hoped that the situation not only of Pakistan but also of the entire world is going to turn to goodness. We should peep into our hearts lest we should be inclined to lust greed and stinginess because we criticize the outer Parvez Musharrif whereas there is a greedy and avaricious Parvez Musharif sitting in us. We should pray to Allah to save us from stinginess and greed.

"O Allah, I seek shelter with You against miserliness and cowardice." It is written in Tafseer Al-Qurtabi that the Holy Prophet would pray:

"O Allah, I seek shelter with You against greed of the Self and its extravgance and doubts." Hazrat Abul-Hayaaj Asady says, "I saw a person during Tawaaf praying only one supplication thus:

(O Allah, save me from the greed of my self.)

When I asked the reason, he said, "If I am protected against the greed of the Self, I shall neither steal, nor commit adultery nor any other sin." Afterwards, it came to be known that that person was a prominent Sahaabi Hazrat Abd-ud-Rahmaan bin Aof to whom the Holy Prophet had given the glad tidings of Paradise in open words. Hazrat Abu Hurairah reports:

"The dust of Jihaad and smoke of hell cannot co-exist in the belly of any person. Greed and Belief can also not co-exist in any slave of Allah." (Sunan Nisai)
What do you think after reading these reports?

After reading these reports, we should give some wealth in the way of Allah or to a needy in a way that no other may come to know of it. We should give it with the intentions of seeking Allah's good pleasure praying to Him to store it for us in the Hereafter. After giving the wealth, we should thank Allah at once, as, "O Allah, how great grace that you have accepted it from me.",,  O Allah grant me with even more powers and capacity." Then bring no wish of any of its return in this world in lieu of this wealth rather save it from the Hereafter. Secondly, study the Traditions of the Holy Prophet which end the love for the wealth and world. You may find a few Traditions in this edition of the Al-Qalam otherwise study them in "Rayaaz-us-Saliheen and Maarif-ul-Hadith. Thirdly, make it your routine to invoke the supplications mentioned in this column particularly beseech Allah in the supererogatory prayers. It will be very useful if Allah wills.

O Allah, forgive us all and protect us against stringiness, greed, lust and worldliness.
